At Copilot, we want to offer service-based businesses a true all-in-one platform. Our Winter 2024 Release introduces three major features that gets us closer to this vision: a task management app, business analytics, and built-in automation tools.

Manage tasks with the Tasks App

With the Tasks App we’re taking our first steps into the world of task and project management. You can now create tasks and assign them to internal users, clients, and companies. Filters at the top and search make it easy to see your own tasks, your team’s tasks, and client tasks.

Tasks can be created with rich text and images, and each task includes an activity feed where you can leave comments to collaborate internally or with clients.

Using the Tasks App for client tasks

With existing apps, you can notify clients about open invoices, contracts that need to be signed, and much more. But what if you’re working on a project with a client and you need the client to perform specific one-off tasks — such as inviting you as a user to a product, uploading specific files, or approving certain documents? Now you can use the Tasks App to create tasks of this nature and assign them to clients who are notified via email and in-product. Clients can then leave comments if they have additional questions and mark the task done once complete.

Using the Tasks App for internal collaboration

For internal work, the Tasks App serves as a centralized project management tool. You can assign tasks to yourself and team members, discuss work through comments, and maintain a comprehensive view of all team activities.

Seamless Automations without Zapier

We love Zapier and Make at Copilot and will continue to support both platforms. But we heard your feedback that (1) many automations are just too difficult to set up and that (2) you don’t want to subscribe to yet another platform just to set up time-saving workflows.

With Copilot Automations, we designed an automation builder from scratch that lets you quickly and seamlessly set up the most popular workflow automations. At launch time, we are starting with the templates below, and in the upcoming months we’re following up with more templates and a builder that lets you set up automations from scratch.

  1. Upload files and folders when a client/company is created
  2. Assign a contract when a client logs in for the first time
  3. Assign a form when a client logs in for the first time

A new Homepage with Analytics

The new homepage features an analytics section at the top that displays your total clients, active clients, and active subscriptions (if the Billing App is enabled). Below the analytics, you'll find sections showing unread notifications and recently visited pages for easier navigation.

You can view the new home page and analytics on the Copilot Dashboard.
